Internet Rights and Principles Coalition
The Internet Rights and Principles Coalition has been working for many years to create a Charter, and later, the 10 Internet Rights and Principles. These initiatives apply existing human rights to the Internet environment, and thereby to clarify how individuals existing rights manifest themselves, and the corresponding duties of governments and businesses.
This year we will start with an update on current IRP work (working with the Council of Europe to develop a Compendium of Rights of Internet Users), we will then develop a strategy for IRP work over the next 1-3 years and finish with elections for a new co-chair and steering committee members.
Speakers will include:
*Dixie Hawtin, Global Partners & Associates (civil society)
*Elvana Thaci, Council of Europe (government)
*Wolfgang Benedek, University of Graz (academia)
