1. General
A senior professional with over 25 years of experience straddling the Development Sector, the IT Industry and the Government.
- Presently the Director of ICFOSS, a multidisciplinary institution mandated with promoting Free and Open Source technologies (2011 onwards)
- President and co-founder of InApp Information Technologies, a CMMI Level 5 IT Services company with offices in the US, Europe and Japan, and with a development centre at Technopark, India (1999-2011)
- Executive and CEO of SIFFS (1984-1999), an NGO working with the small-scale fishermen of South India
2. Professional Activities
- National President of the Computer Society of India (CSI), India's largest fraternity of computing professionals. CSI, founded in 1965, has close to 100,000 members, and a national presence through Chapters and Student Branches
- President, South-East Asian Regional Computer Confederation (SEARCC), a regional association of national computer societies of countries in the Asia-Pacific region, founded in 1978
- Chair, IEEE Kerala Section (2011, 2012); Vice President, IEEE India Council (2010, 2011)
- Asia-Pacific Co-ordinator of Geographic Operations, IEEE Computer Society (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012); Global Chair, Distinguished Visitor Programme, IEEE Computer Society (2012); Member, Nominations Committee, IEEE Computer Society (2012)
- Early Promoter and advocate of Open Source technologies (from 1999); founder-chair of CSI Special Interest Group on FOSS (SIG-FOSS)
- A programmer on different platforms since college (1982); software designer, consultant, trainer and architect for over 25 years

- Graduated from Kurukshetra University, Haryana (1982)
- Post-graduation from Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA) (1984)
