Raquel Gatto is currently a lawyer and advisor at the Brazilian Network Information Center – NIC.br and Director of the Internet Society Brazil Chapter.
On the academic side, she is an Assistant Professor in States Theory and Political Sciences and PhD candidate focused on Legitimacy of Global Regulation for Internet Governance, both at the Law School at the PUC, Sao Paulo. She is also a member of Global Internet Governance Academic Network – GigaNet and past Program Committee Chair (2009-2010).

She is a founding member of IGF Remote Participation Working Group and Youth Dynamic Coalition on Internet Governance, in both groups actively working towards the use of e-participation and other mechanisms for greater inclusion in global IG policy fora. Nationally, she is also a member of the Science and Technology Commission from the Law Bar Association (OAB/SP), dealing with law and technology issues. She co-organizes the Privacy and Data Protection Seminar in Brazil (2010, 2011 and 2012).
 
Ms. Gatto is an alumni of DiploFoundation Internet Governance Capacity Building Program (2008) and the South Summer School on Internet Governance (2009).
She is a lecturer and author about global and Brazilian Internet Governance issues and mechanisms.
