Langdon-Orr - Cheryl
Cheryl has been involved in a number of sectors in the Internet (and Internet Governance) landscape / ecosystem for more than 10 years.
On the International front Cheryl has attended several IGF Meetings, leading several workshops and presenting in a number of sessions. She is a part of the multi-stakeholder advisory group for organisation of Asia Pacific Regional IGF's as well as other National IGF's. She also represents the Internet Society of Australia (ISOC-AU) as an ICANN accredited At-Large Structure in ICANN’s Asia Pacific Regional At-Large Organisation (APRALO) and APRALO in the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC), until late 2011. She served as the Chair of the ALAC for three terms, from 2007–2010 and is currently an ALAC Vice Chair and the ALAC liaison to ICANN’s Country Code Name Supporting Organisation (ccNSO) Council. As Chair of the ALAC, Cheryl was also appointed to serve on the first Affirmation of Commitment’s Independent Community Review Team for ICANN looking at accountability and transparency during 2010.
At a national level, Cheryl is Director of two of the convening organisations of the inaugural Australian IGF, ISOC-AU and auDA, she was elected to ISOC-AU in 2001, has served as Hon. Treasurer and is currently Hon. Company Secretary; and to the auDA Board in 2002 in the Demand Class, having previously worked on several auDA policy Advisory Panels, from 2000. Cheryl has also been a convenor and planning Committee Member of the Australian IPv6 Forum from it's inception in 2005 and one of her companies was a partner organisation in the Australia IPv6 for e-business study in 2006/7.
