Liddicoat - Joy
Joy is a lawyer and human rights advocate who works for the Association for Progressive Communications (APC): www.apc.org She is currently coordinating a global Internet and Human Rights project with research, advocacy, capacity building and networking strategies to promote and protect human rights online and offline: http://rights/apc.org She joined APC in April 2011, having previously been a Commissioner with the New Zealand Human Rights Commission and having worked with diverse public, private and civil society organisations. Joy represents APC in the Non Commercial Users Constituency of ICANN and in October 2011 was elected as a Councillor for a two year term representing non-commercial stakeholders on the Generic Names Supporting Organisation Council. Based in New Zealand, Joy completed her Masters of Law (Distinction) at Victoria University of Wellington in 2010 (on domain name dispute resolution). Joy is a member of the Pacific ISOC Chapter, a member of InternetNZ and chairs the board of directors of the Domain Name Commission Limited which oversees regulation of the ccTLD .nz.
