Chris Marcich, President and Managing Director of MPA operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA)
Chris Marcich is a 17-year veteran of the association’s EMEA activities and serves as the MPA’s voice in the region and in a number of international organizations. In his role as President, Chris oversees commercial policy developments in the region, guides the development and implementation of content protection policy strategies, advocates for digital rights management and pursues collaborative efforts to promote intellectual property rights. Before coming to MPA in 1995, Chris held a myriad of high-level roles with the U.S. government. Immediately prior to joining MPA, he held the position of Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Europe, serving as lead U.S. negotiator on trade matters between Europe and the United States. Prior to that, he was appointed to the newly created position of Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Trade and the Environment, pioneering efforts to integrate health and environmental principles with those of international commerce. He was also previously responsible for trade issues at the US Mission to the EU in Brussels. Chris is a graduate of Georgetown University and the University of Wisconsin. He resides in Brussels where the MPA’s EMEA offices are headquartered.
