Dunja Mijatovic is the Representative on Freedom of the Media for the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). She was appointed to this position in early 2010 as an expert in media law and regulation from Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 1998, as one of the founders of the Communications Regulatory Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, she helped create a legal, regulatory and policy framework for the media in a complex post-war society. In 2007, she was elected as President of the European Platform of Regulatory Agencies (EPRA), the largest network of media regulators in the world, a position she filled until her appointment to the OSCE. Mijatović has written extensively on “new media” topics and has also served as a consultant on projects relating to media regulation and new technologies in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
