Biography: 

Jean-Paul Nkurunziza graduated in Psychology and Education Sciences at the University of Burundi in 2000. His involvement in ICT dates back from his co-founding of the Burundi Youth Training Center (http://www.bytc.bi), and the active participation in the WSIS process since 2002. He attended a WSIS thematic meeting in Seoul in June 2005. For several years, he acted as the National Expert for the World Summit Award project led by the International Center for the New Media. In 2007, Jean-Paul was elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Burundian Chapter of Internet Society (http://www.isoc.bi). He is also the Chairperson of Burundi Community Telecenter Network (http://www.rtcb.bi). He got involved in DiploFoundation in 2007 after successful attendance to the IGCBP, becoming a tutor thereafter. He became the tutor of African Bilingual English and French in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. In 2011 and now in 2012, he has been involved into the ISOC's Next Generation Leaders as a tutor for the francophone group. During the year 2010, Jean-Paul spent 6 months in a fellowship position at the IGF secretariat in Geneva where he has actively been involved in the preparation of the 5th IGF in Vilnius ( Lithuania)
