Biography: 

Dr. Evangelia Psychogiopoulou is a lawyer and research fellow at ELIAMEP. She completed her undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Law of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens (2000) and obtained a DEA in European and Community Law from the University of Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne (2001) and a Master of Research in Law from the European University Institute (2003). In 2007, she successfully defended her PhD thesis on the accommodation of cultural diversity considerations in EU law and policies (Art. 151.4 EC) at the European University Institute. She has held research and management positions at the Academy of European Law (Florence, Italy), the Directorate General Education and Culture (Unit C1-Culture and Intercultural Dialogue) of the European Commission and UNESCO (Division of cultural expressions and creative industries). Her research interests lie in the fields of EU law, with emphasis on EU cultural and media policies, as well as human rights protection. Her recent publications include: The Integration of Cultural Considerations in EU Law and Policies, Martinus Nijhoff Publishers, 2008; and The European Court of Human Rights and the Rights of Marginalised Individuals and Minorities in National Context (Martinus Nijhoff Publishers, 2010), co-edited with Dr. Dia Anagnostou.
