Salah-Ahmed - Amira

Amira Salah-Ahmed is one of the co-founders of The Egypt Monocle. She was the business editor of Daily News Egypt from July 2007-April 2012 and, prior to that, she worked as a Communications Specialist for a USAID-funded economic policy reform project. She worked as an assistant editor/writer at Egypt Today and Business Today Egypt monthly magazines after graduating with a journalism degree from the American University in Cairo.
 
Amira has co-authored a book about Egypt’s uprising, which has been published in Italian ("I Diari Della Rivoluzione", Fandango Libri) and Arabic ("Tahrir Memoirs", Dar Al Shorouq). She writes poetry and short stories published regularly on her blog: amiralx.wordpress.com.
