Servida - Andrea
Andrea studied Nuclear Engineering at Politecnico di Milano and carried out postgraduate studies in artificial intelligence at Queen Mary College in London.
In the late 80s he was a grant holder in EC research centres of Ispra (IT) and Petten (NL) while enrolled at Queen Mary College. In 1990 he started working as a project manager in the private sector on risk analysis consultancy in the chemical sector as well as on R&D projects on decision support systems for environmental risk assessment and space missions.
Andrea`s EC career started in 1993 in ESPRIT. Until 2005, he worked in the Framework Programmes as a project officer, Head of Sector (since 2002) and Deputy Head of Unit (since 2004) dealing with R&D on software technologies, dependability and security.
In 2006 Andrea moved to policy at DG INFSO as a Deputy Head of the Unit in charge of network and information security. He managed the development of the policy proposals on secure information society (2006), CIIP (2009 & 2011) and ENISA (2007 & 2010) and the CERT-EU pre-configuration team (2011). Since November 2011 Andrea Servida leads the eIDAS Task Force.
