Salanieta Tamanikaiwaimaro (Sala for short), is a Fiji based lawyer who currently works for a Telecommunications company in Fiji. She practices law in the following areas, Commercial, Corporate, Securities, Product Liability, Information Communication Technology, Intellectual Property Law, Public and Private International Law, Competition Law and Criminal Law, Sala is also the co-coordinator of the Young Professionals Training Development Forum which is an initiative birthed out of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat.She held previous roles and responsibilities within a law firm, regulator of the Securities market, regional policy and advisory body within the Pacific, a telecommunications company and an internet service provider.

She is also a member of Global Leadership Interlink (GLI) at the Fiji chapter in Fiji. GLI is a sector of Congress WBN, a synergy of global initiatives focused on effecting humans, social and national transformation through the propagation of values development principles, patterns and approaches.
Sala is also Diplo Foundation Alumni and European Summer School on Internet Governance Alumni. She is currently one of two coordinators of the Civil Society Internet Governance Caucus and a member of the Steering Committee of the Dynamic Coalition on the Internet of Things. She is also in the At Large Advisory Committee which advises the ICANN Board of individual internet users’ interests. She is also heavily involved in outreach, capacity building initiatives where she is constantly looking for means to empower people from all walks of life into policy immersion so that there is meaningful participation into global policy processes.

Having lived and worked in the Pacific, in the private sector, public sector and a regional organization, she is familiar with the development challenges and issues that affect the Pacific. Sala is passionate about collaborating to create synergistic creative solutions.
