Vega Iracelay - Jorge
Jorge J. Vega Iracelay is Microsoft Legal and Corporate Affairs Senior Director for Mexico since November 2010. Before taking this position Jorge had the same role combined with the Citizenship Lead for Argentina and Uruguay from July 2008. Jorge bore the same responsibilities from July, 2006 to June, 2008 for the then existing Southern Cone Region.
Jorge was graduated as Lawyer (LL.B) at the Argentine Catholic University in 1986. In 1995 Jorge obtained a Master´s in Laws (L.L.M) at Columbia University School of Law (NY, US), where he was admitted as a Visiting Scholar to research and write his LL.M thesis (selected to be published) in International Arbitration. Jorge worked as a Law Professor at his Argentine Alma Mater where he taught Commercial Law and Corporations for over 10 years.
Among other employments, Jorge has worked for local and international law firms, based in Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, New York and Washington D.C. and as in-house counsel for companies such as Aguas Argentinas (a Suez Company) and Grupo Socma/Macri.
He is coming to Microsoft from COMSAT INTERNATIONAL INC. (a former Lockheed Martin Company) where he worked as VP & General Counsel, based in McLean, Virginia.
Jorge is admitted to practice law both in Argentina and in the State of New York, US.
Jorge was distinguished at Microsoft among several candidates from all over the world with the ‘Professional Excellence Award 2008 - Attorney’, in the 2008 LCA Worldwide Summit and has been distinghuished last year with the Global Platinum Circle of Excellente for his outstadning work in Corporate Social Responsability in Argentina.
