Wooding - Bevil
Bevil Wooding is the Chief Knowledge Officer of Congress WBN, and an international technology strategist. He has designed, developed, and implemented ICT solutions for Governments, Private Sector and Non-Profit organizations in the Caribbean and around the world.
Wooding was one of seven people in the world entrusted by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names & Numbers (ICANN) with a special cryptographic ‘smart-card’ that holds part of a key used to generate the Domain Name Server Security Extensions (DNSSEC) protocol that protects Internet domain names.
He has consulted for the Commonwealth Secretariat in e-Government and regularly facilitates seminars and workshops on Internet Governance, ICT Strategy and Innovation. He is also an Internet Strategist for Packet Clearing House, a US based nonprofit technology research firm. He is also one of the founding members of the Caribbean Network Operators Group (CaribNOG) and the Program Director for the Caribbean ICT Roadshow
Mr. Wooding is a strong advocate in developing countries for the adoption of the Internet and Internet-based technologies as a mechanism for economic and social transformation and is involved in numerous national outreach and development initiatives. He regularly facilitates regional and international seminars, workshops on ICT, Innovation, Policy and Internet Governance and Internet Exchange Point (IXP) Development.
